Nursing Process and Advanced Nursing Skills
Course Description:
This course will emphasize the scope of practical nursing (25.01 and 25.02) including defining and explaining the steps of the nursing process (24.06), and utilizing nursing principles to assist with the patient’s plan of care. (24.07). Surgical aseptic techniques (27.0) as well as data collection (24.05), legal guidelines in charting (25.04) and documentation (24.04) will be addressed. Emphasis will be placed on the adult lifespan (26.04) and wellness, geriatric nursing care (37.0), preoperative and postoperative care (39.0) as well as care of the terminally ill and the oncology patient.
